Nepal Minister meets Sushma Swaraj, offers condolences on Vajpayee’s death

New Delhi,   External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday met Nepal Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali who conveyed condolences from his country’s leadership over the passing away of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

“Deepest condolences conveyed by our friends from Nepal on the loss of a visionary leader!” External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

Kumar said that the two leaders “vowed to continue Vajpayee’s legacy in strengthening bilateral relations”.

Vajpayee, 93, passed away here on Thursday after a prolonged illness. He was cremated with full state honours at the Rashtriya Smriti Sthal, where Gyawali was also present among a host of leaders from various South Asian countries.
